On June 1, 2017, Sienna Senior Living officially launched “Sienna for Seniors,” a partnership with the United Way. The goal of the initiative is to raise funds for the more than 600,000 seniors in need who live in Canada.
The inspiration for this initiative came from one of Sienna’s own residents, Sandra Boyle, who lives at Astoria Retirement Residence in Port Coquitlam, British Columbia. For this new initiative, events will be held at more than 50 of Sienna’s retirement and long-term care homes throughout Ontario and BC. These events may take the form of a resident sports tournament, senior prom, carnival, or resident fashion show – just to name a few! All proceeds from the events will be donated to the United Way to help seniors in need.
Most events are taking place during the month of June, which is Seniors Month here in Ontario.
