High five for restorative care rehab at Caressant Care Harriston
Seven years ago, a stroke took away Heather Plourde’s mobility in her right arm and hand. Today, thanks in part to the Restorative Care Nursing Rehabilitation Program at Caressant Care Harriston Nursing Home, she is able to move her arm and hand.
Heather works out everyday for 40 minutes using an arm exerciser and a big wheel that promotes mobility. She says that, compared to seven years ago, she now feels "excellent" and is very appreciative of the program that has helped her regain her mobility.
Registered Practical Nurse Janice Beyersbergen, who runs the program with the help of restorative staff, says she is extremely proud of the nursing rehab program and credits its success to the amazing staff who are dedicated to improving their residents' independence and dignity through one-to-one support.
