Research and Long Term Care: Strengthening the Partnership

The utilization of sound research supports the delivery of high quality resident care and services in long term care. OLTCA encourages and supports dialogue and partnerships between the research community and long term care in order to foster relevant research.  Through these web pages we facilitate:

• Increased awareness of current and future long term care sector research studies, and associated academic centres and research institutes
• Support of individual research projects through linkage of researchers with key long term care stakeholders and/or individual long term care homes
• Increased awareness of current trends and issues in long term care research, and long term care stakeholder perspectives on such trends

OLTCA’s commitment to research in long term care, geriatrics and aging is guided by the Applied Research Committee (ARC). The ARC includes representation from both member homes and the research community with a focus on promoting the growth of quality long term care research and reducing barriers to research development in long term care.

Information for Researchers
Help for researchers with requests for:

• letters of support for grant applications,
• long term care sector representation on research advisory committees, or
• assistance with recruitment of homes/residents for participation in research or pilot studies

Current study reports, articles, news items, commentaries, and other material relevant to research in long term care.
