Four homes from Responsive Management "Dine in the Dark" to raise funds for the blind

What if you had the opportunity to participate in a fundraiser that asked you to navigate through a five course meal blind folded and experience first-hand what it would be like to function on a daily basis without your sight? That’s exactly what one hundred and seventy guests graciously agreed to do in support of a fundraising partnership event held by Responsive Management Inc. on behalf of the Canadian National Institute for the Blind (CNIB).

Four Responsive Long Term Care Homes; Anson Place, Orchard Terrace, Dundurn Place, and Wellington Park, raised a total of $17,000.00 in support of CNIB’s vital programs and services that assist individuals on a daily basis who have partial sight or are blind.
This memorable fun filled event included a silent auction, wine tasting, live entertainment, and culinary experience served by volunteers from each participating home.

Guests agreed it was a challenge to rely on other senses such as taste, touch and smell to decipher textures, flavors and identify ingredients from each serving. This was a great networking event that supported CNIB initiatives as well as raised awareness around the benefits of eye health.
