The Applied Research Committee (ARC) is a joint committee of OLTCA member home representatives and members of the research community. The ARC reports to the elected OLTCA Resident Care and Services Committee (RCSC), on long term care research issues. OLTCA's ARC members for 2011-2012 are:

Objectives of the ARC:
-
To promote the dissemination/transfer and uptake of research in long term care
-
To facilitate evidence informed practice in long term care
-
To analyze barriers to research in long term care
-
To plan and facilitate OLTCA research studies and research reviews in support of formal OLTCA positions
-
To critically appraise long term care research, and generate formal responses to such research where required
-
To promote research utilization and evaluation skills within the OLTCA staff, the Applied Research Committee, and the membership base
-
To explore the potential for development of research review committees in long term care
-
To build and leverage relationships with technology research and development entities in order to enhance long term care products and services
-
To strengthen relationships with the long term care research community
-
To evaluate requests for long term care grant proposal letters of support, and to draft such letters
-
To participate on, and contribute to, long term care research advisory boards
-
To assist with recruitment of long term care sites for participation in research projects
